Planica is a snowy valley in north-west Slovenia where the world's biggest ski jumps take place. Athletes from all over the world fly more than 240 metres - the length of two-and-a-half football pitches - through the air.

Slovenia is one of the strongest ski-jumping countries in the world. Many young Slovenians start jumping on small hills before they're ten years old.

Athletes wear special suits and very thin, wide skis to help them glide as far as possible.

The annual Planica competition fills the valley with thousands of cheering fans wearing Slovenian flags painted on their faces.
